What to Pack for a Belize Road Trip
Reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag, small bills and a good playlist. The checklist our returning customers swear by.
Belize is warm, humid and wonderfully casual. You need less than you think, but a few items make life on the road much better.
In the car
- Small bills (BZ$ or US$) for fruit stands, parking and village tolls. US dollars are accepted everywhere at 2:1.
- Phone mount and charger. Google Maps works well; download the offline map before leaving the airport.
- Cooler. Add one to your reservation and keep water cold for the Hummingbird Highway.
- Bug spray for the jungle stops, reef-safe sunscreen for the coast.
In your bag
- Quick-dry clothes and a light rain jacket, especially June to November.
- Water shoes for cave tubing and river swims.
- A dry bag for the boat trips out to the cayes.
- Your driver's license and passport, which you will need at pickup and at police checkpoints.
Leave at home
Formal clothes, heavy jackets, and worries. Belize is relaxed and so are we.
Reserve your car and start packing.
